America’s birthday is right around the corner! And so is our traditional family picnic celebration! As July 4 is a Tuesday, we have chosen Saturday July 8 to accommodate turnout. Conveniently, July 8, 1776 was also the 1st public reading of the Declaration of Independence to citizens of Philadelphia! Please join us:
3 - 6 PM, Saturday, July 8 at the Göttinger Allstars Baseball Field. Take Reinhäuser Landstrasse south to Kisseestraße, take a right and go west to where the road ends. Ball field on south side.
Please bring your favorite American dish to share, beverage and, if desired, meat to grill, as well as any yard games. People are also invited to share a song or reading in honor of our country!
We're also launching our Resistance Summer postcard campaign, so bring a pen and plan ten minutes for writing to Congress on healthcare, taxation, environmental issues, LGBT rights, voting rights, or another issue of your choosing! We'll have postcards and addresses at the ready and stamps for sale, too.
Join the Braunschweig Precinct at their booth for the Sommerlochfestival on Saturday, July 29th. Democrats Abroad Germany will be there and will be handing out information about being active in Democrats Abroad.
We will also have some of our new merchandise available to purchase, as well as plenty of postcards that you can use to write to your representatives back in the States.
If you are around, we would love for you to come say hi. Owen Jappen, Chair of DA Germany, and Quaide Williams, former Chair of DA Germany, will be at the booth. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Kenton Barnes (DAG-LGBT@democratsabroad.org).
