France-Normandy

The Normandy Chapter welcomes American citizens living in Calvados (14), Manche 50), Orne (61), Eure (27) and Seine-Maritime (76) regions of France to become members of Democrats Abroad France. The Normandy Chapter works toward changes in U.S. domestic and foreign policy through voter registration, caucuses, and informative programs. Beginning on November 12, 2015, Democrats Abroad will be holding the 2015 DA Global Auction to raise much needed funds. We are looking to NORMANDY DEMOCRATS to donate an item (a weekend in Calvados? visit to Giverny? tour of the D-Day beaches?)

wreath-laying ceremony

Democrats Abroad Normandy will have a wreath-laying ceremony at 11:00 on Saturday, 6 June 2015 at the Normandy American Cemetery to commemorate D-Day. We will have lunch afterwards at the D-Day House Restaurant on Omaha Beach and also have our chapter elections. To participate, contact Candice Stevens at canstevens@gmail.com.

Democrats Abroad France will be participating in the commemoration ceremony on June 6th, the 70th anniversary of D-Day at the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer to honor the memory of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and in the presence of President Barack Obama.

The Normandy Chapter participated in a moving D-Day commemoration at the Normandy American Cemetery on Thursday, 6 June and laid a wreath for Democrats Abroad. This was preceded by a pot-luck lunch at the beautiful home of Vice-Chair Tom Kleingartner in Bayeux. We also voted for Chapter officers with the existing Bureau all re-elected for a new 2-year term..
