Welcome to Democrats Abroad-Israel, one of DA's  longest standing Country Committees, admitted to Democrats Abroad in 1978.

DA itself was founded in 1964 and is this year celebrating its 45th anniversary -- a good reason for a great event in the Fall!!

We have grown so much in the past year, that we are now undergoing an intense localization program in which our five "Local Groups", which we hope to nurture into full fledged chapters, are currently being developed.  The groups are Jerusalem & Area, Tel Aviv & Area, Sharon Region, Haifa & North and Beersheva & South.

New members asking to join DA-Israel are requested to also ask to join one of the Local Groups; while current members are asked to join one of the Local Groups if they have not yet done so.

Our major mission continues to be assisting Americans living in Israel on a permanent or termporary basis to REGISTER TO VOTE and to vote when the time comes.  We have already launched our VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE  for the upcoming, and VERY IMPORTANT mid-term elections in November 2010.

We urge all Americans in Israel to go to www.votefromabroad.org, the most efficient and simplest online registration tool available -- and begin the voter registration process.

In addition, we are in the final stages of planning several major events in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv following our participation in the AACI (Assoc. of Americans & Canadians in Israel)  July 1st Independence day celebration at the Jerusalem Cinematheque, which was a great success.
