Welcome...

Living abroad doesn't mean that you can't participate in American politics! Involvement in Democrats Abroad allows American citizens living in Japan to play an important role in electing Democrats to public office in the United States.

We work on the key tasks of fundraising, voter education, and voter registration. We seek to advance the interests of American citizens living outside of the United States, including protection of our right to vote. And we provide opportunities for Americans living abroad to influence the Democratic party platform and to elect delegates to the national convention.

As the 2000 presidential election showed, votes from abroad can be crucial in determining election results back home: we are determined to ensure that more of those votes are from the large numbers of Democrats living in Japan and around the world.
