On 16 March 2010, Democrats Abroad Belgium (DAB) will convene its Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the membership and hold elections for seven positions on its Executive Committee (ExCom). DAB is also actively seeking volunteers for a number of (non-elected) Director and Deputy Director positions. This meeting is open to US Citizens only.

- ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & ELECTION

The AGM will be held starting at 19:00h in a venue in central Brussels, and will contain reports by the Chair, the Treasurer and all Directors.  In addition, elections will be held for all elected DAB positions.  A proposal to amend DAB’s By-laws to align DAB’s election procedures with new guidelines recommended by Democrats Abroad may also be on the agenda of the AGM.  Any changes approved by DAB’s membersip would only become applicable for elections held after this year’s AGM.  DAB members in good standing who cannot attend the AGM will be able to submit votes by proxy.

Elections will be held for the following positions:

•    five DA Belgium Officers
o    Chair
o    Vice Chair (must be opposite sex of Chair)
o    Secretary
o    Treasurer
o    Counsel
•    two Members At-Large.

All candidates for elected positions must be members in good standing of DAB.  If you are thinking of running for an elected position or would like more information about the election, please contact DAB’s Election Committee:

- SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

After the AGM, the new Officers and Members At-Large will appoint (or re-appoint) Directors for:

•    Young Democrats
•    Fundraising
•    Events
•    Membership
•    Local Action
•    Volunteers
•    Marketing
•    Communications and
•    Voter Registration.

DAB’s Officers, Members At-Large and Directors together comprise its Executive Committee (ExCom).  In addition, the ExCom will be looking to recruit or re-appoint Deputies for:

•    all above-listed Director positions
•    Counsel and
•    Secretary.
