Letter from the Chair: Time to celebrate!
Dear Fellow Democrat,
Because of your vote and your hard work – phone banking, canvassing, organizing, donating, fundraising – President Barack Obama has another four years to keep America moving forward. Now Democrats both at home and abroad are eagerly looking forward to the second Inauguration of President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.
Democrats Abroad UK is organizing what may be the largest Inaugural celebration outside the US. I fondly remember our last Inaugural Ball in London in 2009. It was a great evening, filled with wonderful music, dancing, laughter, good food, and great friends. A fun, patriotic time was had by all.
Thanks to the talent and hard work of many volunteers, we will once again be celebrating together in Central London with gala event. I hope you will join us for this black-tie optional party on Monday, January 21, 2013. If you'd like to volunteer to help make the Inaugural Ball a night to remember, there are still plenty of ways to get involved (read further in the newsletter for details).
DAUK has a wide variety of activities coming up in 2013. Please watch the monthly newsletters and emails, and mark your calendars and join us – your participation makes all the difference.
All the best during this holiday season,
Chair, Democrats Abroad UK
