Democrats living in the U.K. can vote in the Democrats Abroad primary for their choice for the Democratic nomination. They may vote in person at Porchester Hall in London on the
evening of Feb 5—or in Oxford on Feb 6. If they cannot attend the voting centers on either date, they may vote by mail, fax, or internet. DAUK’s primary is held in conjunction with Democrats Abroad committees in more than 30 countries around the world, and takes place alongside state primaries held throughout the U.S.

5) VOTE ONLINE

Members should have received or will shortly receive an email from Democrats Abroad to update their contact details. When you have completed this process, you will be asked whether you want to participate in the Democrats Abroad Primary using the online ballot. You should expect to receive instructions about procedures to cast an online ballot and how to obtain your pin number before Feb. 5.

NOTE: If a member votes by more than one method, neither ballot will be counted. To avoid this situation, if you receive instructions to vote online, and then decide to attend a voting center in London or in Oxford to cast your ballot, do NOT cast your ballot online.

DON’T FORGET: You must be a member of DAUK by Jan. 31. Online voting will take place Feb. 5 at 6:00 pm until Feb. 12 at 6:00 pm. Details of internet voting will be available soon from Democrats Abroad.

WHO CAN VOTE?

a) Any American citizen who is a member of DAUK may vote at a voting center in either London (Feb 5) or in Oxford (Feb 6). Any American citizen who is 18 (i.e., will be 18 by Nov. 4, 2008), who subscribes to the principles of the Democratic party, and who produces evidence of U.S. citizenship (e.g. passport) may join DAUK on the night and cast a ballot.

b) Anyone who is a member of DAUK by Jan. 31 and who cannot attend the voting center in London or in Oxford may request a mail, fax, or internet ballot. This request must be received by 6:00 pm, Jan. 31, and the ballot must be returned by 6:00 pm, Jan. 12. You may join DAUK by clicking on the join link at www.democratsabroad.org/join.
