DA-Italy How to Vote in the DA Global Primary

Instructions on How to Vote in the Democrats Abroad Global Primary for DA Italy

The global primary will take place between February 5 -12, 2008 and is open to all US citizens of voting age living abroad, either permanently or temporarily, on the those dates. To vote in the primary, you must be a registered member of Democrats Abroad as of January 31, 2008 or you can register at a voting center on the date of the primary vote - which will be February 5 for Italy. To register with Democrats Abroad, fill out the form located here: www.democratsabroad.org/join.

VOTING OPTIONS

1. Internet Voting

If you are a member of Democrats Abroad, you should receive an email asking you to log in to the Democrats Abroad website, create a password and confirm your voting details. This will take you to your membership record where you can make any corrections that may be needed. Please be sure to select the option to participate in the global primary and include your date of birth. This is a new system that Democrats Abroad has developed specifically to allow members to request an internet ballot. Due to the amount of traffic to the site, we have been experiencing some technical difficulties which are being resolved. If the pages take too long to load, try again later. NB: not completing the confirmation
does not effect your right to vote in the primary - but only the
possibility of voting via internet. You can still vote by mail, fax or
at a voting center.

Once you have notified us of your preference to vote by internet, you will receive an email from the internet voting provider, Everyone Counts, between February 1-5 with instructions on how to access your online ballot.

Questions, comments, complaints about the new Democrats Abroad website should be directed here: site-help@democratsabroad.org.

2. Mail-in/Fax

The second option is to send in your ballot by mail or fax. To request a mail-in/fax ballot, please send an email, letter or fax to the following:

Anthony Sistilli

fax: 06 9799 6056

email: chair@democratsabroad.it

Be sure to state clearly that you are requesting a mail-in/fax ballot. Include your full name, mailing address, fax number and email and a ballot will be delivered to you.

Once you have voted your ballot, return it by mail or fax no later than 6 pm February 12, 2008 to:

Anthony Sistilli
