Have a look at the great article about Democrats Abroad Canada and Caribana in the Toronto Star, page A3, “Caribana Sways to the Obama Beat” at the following link (cut and paste):

Toronto Star reporter Sarah Barmak emailed yesterday (Tuesday) about a “rumor” she heard about Democrats Abroad being in the Caribana Parade, which attracts more than 1 million visitors to Toronto every year.

Close, but no deal; we’d hoped to have a truck and banners in the parade; instead, we’re having several teams of three people each walking through the crowds who will be watching the elaborate floats along the Toronto Lakeshore route, starting at the Canadian National Exhibition. The teams will have signs, hand out flyers and sell buttons to the fervent Obama supporters. It will be a hoot, and yield a lot of "fruit" for Democrats!

Lillian Allen, one of several Caribana organizers and renowned dub poet who’s giving us a lot of help, distributing 10,000 flyers via the many Caribana organizations. This connection is a wonderful opportunity for DA Canada to reach a new audience of potential voters, affirm our affirmative action mandate, and meet a lot of fabulous people.

Cheers
