Edmonton News & Notes

Dear Democrats Abroad Members,

We have wonderful candidates in this election! I am more and more impressed with the intelligence, integrity and grace of Barack Obama and Joe Biden. I can hardly wait for the debates, where they will really shine! In our public statements, we must follow Obama's lead and make no comment on candidates' families or personal matters. We must stay on the high road and talk about the issues. I highly recommend Barack Obama's insightful 2006 book, The Audacity of Hope.

LOOKING BACK: We have had a busy summer and I have enjoyed meeting some of you face to face. The July 4th picnic and the CBC viewing event on Aug. 28th were quite successful and brought us lots of new contacts through media exposure. At the picnic, we stretched our Obama banner over the pedestrian bridge for photos. Unfortunately, we did not make the deadline for the international video. You will enjoy watching this uplifting U tube entry, click here...

MUCH THANKS to the volunteers who have sat at information tables over the summer. Mid October is the end of reliable timing for these requests. Ask friends, neighbours, colleagues, classmates, etc. if they are US citizens. We do not descriminate against Republicans, the website, votefromabroad.org  is non-partisan. You can send inquiries to me, marilyngaa@telusplanet.net ,780-432-7660 to advise, and provide paper request forms with mailing addresses to specific polling places
