WHEREAS, D.N.C. Chairman Howard Dean’s
leadership and investment in the state partnership program are
strengthening state democratic parties across the country and around
the world;

WHEREAS, Democrats Abroad benefits from a DNC-funded Executive
Director, allowing us to commit resources to our get out the vote
efforts, including www.VoteFromAbroad.org. This voter registration
engine helps Americans abroad and in the military register to vote,
request an absentee ballot, and obtain a back-up ballot quickly, easily
and accurately - in English and in Spanish;

WHEREAS, Governor Dean also supports Democrats Abroad by
participating in events around the world, enabling Democrats from every
corner of the globe to connect with Democratic leadership at home;

WHEREAS, State democratic parties have already been able to build on
and benefit from strategic investments in resources, training, and
infrastructure;

WHEREAS, Democrats in both houses of Congress, in governorships, and
in state legislatures increasingly benefit from strengthened party
structures;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Executive Committee of Democrats
Abroad expresses strong support for Governor Dean’s committed
leadership and joins in his determination to strengthen the Democratic
community at home and abroad;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we honor Democratic leaders and
candidates, and with our sister state parties will achieve Democratic
victories across the United States in 2008 and beyond by reaching ever
more American voters abroad.
