Democrats and Republicans in Israel are set to hold Israel's first-ever U.S. presidential type debate on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 7:30 PM in Jerusalem. The debaters will not be the actual presidential candidates, but representatives of Democrats Abroad-Israel and Republicans Abroad-Israel. .....................Adv. Sheldon Schorer of DA-Israel will face Adv. Marc Zell of RA-Israel. Both are long-standing activists in their respective camps.......................The debate was organized by the American Israeli Action Coalition - a recently-formed body which describes itself as a nonpartisan organization. An audience of up to 1000 people is expected.

Schorer, who in the past served as DA International Counsel, says his core question will be whether the U.S. and Israel are better or worse off after two terms of Republican administration. He noted that in all aspects the U.S. is far worse off, as is the situation in the entire Middle East, adding that: McCain has not shown any intention of departing from the policies of [U.S. President] Bush.

The debate is taking place in the auditorium of Hechal Shlomo in Jerusalem.  Be sure to attend. Bring your friends!
