How sweet it is!

And how important.

I just heard the returns from Virginia and California in the Presidential race and from New Hampshire and North Carolina in the Senate races. We are watching unfold before our eyes a banner night for Democrats!

All the learned analyses will come in time. Preferably after we all get some sleep! But for now, at this moment of great import for our country, let us celebrate a well-earned and historic victory.

Let us celebrate. And let us be thankful.

Thankful to all our candidates who made being a Democrat feel so right this year. Thankful to Barack Obama and Joe Biden, who have come to represent hope for all Americans.

And thankful, too, to all those at home and abroad who worked so tirelessly for this victory. Most particularly, I must thank all those in Democrats Abroad UK who made our all-volunteer organization the incredible success that it is.

You should be proud.
