Dear Members,
Thank you again for all of you help in registering voters for the 2008 election, which finally returned the White House and the U.S. Congress to the Democratic Party. We owe ourselves a round of applause for helping get Barack Obama and Joe Biden elected.
On Wednesday, April 22, 2009, Democrats Abroad Hungary (DA-HU) will be holding its own election in the framework of our bi-annual General Meeting. The meeting and election will take place at 6:30 p.m. (place to be determined).
In the mean time, I would like to encourage you to run (or nominate someone) for a position on the DA-HU Executive Committee. The DA-HU Executive Committee positions include:
Chair
Vice-Chair
Treasurer
Secretary
Legal Counsel
Two Members-At-Large
Candidates for any of the above positions can be nominated by sending an e-mail to: DAHungaryElections09@democratsabroad.org
Nominations must be received no later than Monday, April 6, 2009
Individuals may be nominated by another DA-HU member, or may nominate themselves. Any registered DA-Hungary member is eligible to run for any position. (Note: according to our By-Laws, the Chair and Vice-Chair cannot be of the same sex.)
The nomination and election process will be overseen by the Nominations Committee, consisting of: Ryan James, Richard Harrill, Kristin Faurest and Yana Itskovich.
In order to facilitate the greatest participation by our members in the election process, we will provide for voting by e-mail. Details on the candidate ballot and voting process will be announced shortly after the nomination deadline above.
We look forward to your continued involvement in Democrats Abroad.
Michael Miller
Chair, Democrats Abroad Hungary
