The Executive Committee of DAS Barcelona and its variously appointed Committee Chairs function as a closely knit volunteer team in representation of American Democrat constituency in our region. Our primary function is to engage Americans in voting in Federal elections and supporting legislation which affects American residing abroad. To that end, we organize activities which inform and offer debate on the issues of our Party’s agenda, as well as voter registration for key elections. We form part of our country organization (DA Spain), as well as our larger Regional organization EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
The Officers of the organization shall be the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Vice-President shall be of the opposite sex from the President.
The above Executive Committee may appoint the Chairman of an adhoc committee as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee with full voting privileges.
President
The President shall be the chief executive officer of the organization, shall call and preside at all meetings of members and of the Executive Committee, and shall have responsibility for all activities approved by the organization. The President shall sit ex-officio on all committees of the organization with full voting privileges and will also be a voting member of the Country (DA Spain) Executive Committee.
Vice-President
In the absence of the President, the Vice-President shall call and preside at meetings of members and of the Executive Committee. The Vice-President shall have such other duties as the President shall define.
Secretary
The Secretary shall maintain a current list of members of the organization, containing information the DPCA (Democrats Abroad) requires, minutes of all meetings, and all files and administrative records of the organization. All such records shall be open for inspection by members. The Secretary shall have such other duties as the President shall define. Computer skills and some knowledge of databases will be helpful.Treasurer
The Treasurer shall manage the finances of the organization, maintain its financial reports to members and make and maintain such financial reports as may be required by law (including without limitation the laws and regulations of the United States and the several States applicable to political parties and contributions to them). All such records shall be open for inspection by members. The Treasurer shall have such other duties as the President shall define.
