DA SPAIN ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTIONS
BARCELONA, MAY 16, 2009
Meeting begins 10:00 am.  Elections at 6:00 pm

Dear Spain Democrats,

As previously announced, our Annual Meeting and Elections will take place in Barcelona at the Ateneu Barcelonès, Calle Canuda 6 in the Sala Verdaguer (ground floor behind "portería").  Your participation in voting and attendance (if possible) is not only requested, but indispensable!  President Obama and his administration have just begun their governance, and we are part of the blueprint for success in the coming months.

General Meeting:  The complete agenda will be forthcoming, but aside from an analysis of last year's challenges and successes, the meeting will focus on "Way Forward" addressing membership growth, the issues and  needs to address for overseas citizens, utilizing membership talent, sharing resources and planning events:  a host of important themes and decisions which depend upon membership input.

PLUS:   The all important DA Spain Executive Committee elections!  Hear the candidates and vote to renew YOUR leadership.

Friday Evening, May 15, 7:30pm:  Meet new friends and get ready for tomorrow!!!

A drink and tapas at the Luz de Gas "floating restaurant" in Barcelona's Old Harbour (Port Vell), just opposite the Palau de Mar.  Metro L4, Barceloneta or Jaume 1 stops.   This is a pre-meeting get-together for Barcelona Dems and our colleagues from out-of-town on the Luz de Gas boat moored on Barcelona's picturesque and emblematic "Moll del Diposit" harbour.   Click on http://barcelona-guide.info/es... for the map and pictures!  For those who want to continue the evening with more substantial dinner fare, we recommend the nearby Restaurante Mar Salada, Pg. Saturday, May 16 beginning at 10:00 am.  Elections at 6:00 pm

Lunch, Saturday Annual Meeting and Elections:  Ateneu Barcelonès, Calle Canuda 6, Sala Verdaguer on the ground floor, just behind "portería".   We will cater in a delicious light buffet style lunch to be served in the meeting room around 1:30 pm.  The price will be approximately 10E per person.  PLEASE RSVP by no later than Thursday, May 14  to  bcndems@gmail.com with the words "lunch" and your name.  You need to RSVP, but you can pay on site.

Saturday evening at 8:30 pm, Hotel Le Meridien, Ramblas 111 (very near the Ateneu).

Obama Chile Dinner (the Obama Family's own chili recipe and a vegetarian version option!) featuring guest speaker, Ambassador Ambler Moss.  Celebrate the DA Spain elections and enjoy being with like-minded friends, new and old!  RSVP required by Thursday, May 14.  

Price:  25€ includes welcome drink, scrumptious salad bar, Obama chili and trimmings, dessert, beverage and coffee.
