More than thirteen thousand US citizens rest in the three US military cemeteries on Belgian soil. The names of another thousand whose remains were never recovered are also memorialized in those locations. Solemn, often moving ceremonies commemorating American dead from the two World Wars are occur at all three cemeteries over the Memorial Day weekend.

As it has in previous years, Democrats Abroad Belgium laid wreaths during the May 23-24 ceremonies at the Ardennes, Henri Chapelle and Flanders Field cemeteries.
