Democrats Abroad Australia held its 2009 Annual General Meeting in Melbourne on Saturday 20 June 2009.  National officer elections were held and congratulations go out to the following new office holders:

Chair - Carmelan Polce (NSW)

Vice Chair - Paul La Freniere (NSW)

Secretary - Shannon Knapp (NSW)

Treasurer - Matt Mooney (VIC)

There were no candidates on the ballot for the office of Legal Counsel.  James Wheeldon (NSW) has agreed to act in the role of Special Counsel to the DA Australia Executive Committee.

Further, Sandeep Varma (VIC) has agreed to act for DA Australia in the role of Press Officer.

Sam Bienstock (NSW) continues in the role of Member Database Manager, for which the Executive Committee is very grateful.

Many thanks go to outgoing officers Roger Lamb (Vice Chair) and Alan Berman (Legal Counsel) for their tremendous service and contribution to DA Australia over the last term.

The Annual General Meeting also featured a vote to ratify amendments to the DA Australia By Laws.  The newly ratified By Laws are attached.
