Overseas Absentee Voters Review now online

The Overseas Absentee Voters Review for 2008 has been posted in the Voting Action Center area of the web site.

From the Executive Summary:

This Report covers three areas of voter registration activity in 2008. All deal with issues faced by overseas voters as they sought to exercise their franchise. Two sections deal with two significant Democrats Abroad activities: Voter Outreach, including volunteer and online voter assistance; and Voter Troubleshooting. A third section summarizes results of a recent survey of 2008 voter experiences of Democrats Abroad members in over 150 countries and territories.

US federal elections are organized and managed largely at the state level (the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot being an exception to this rule). Much responsibility and authority is devolved to the county or town level, creating a plethora of contact points and a regulatory maze facing Americans outside the US as they try to vote. It is this complex system that Democrats Abroad is, has been and will continue to cut through for UOCAVA voters.
