WHY VOTE ?
Democrats Abroad France
rules state that every chapter officer is elected for a term of two years,
renewable once. The Bordeaux chapter was founded on October 20th, 2007 and it
is will soon be time to re-elect our officers or select new ones.
WHO CAN VOTE
Democrats in the Bordeaux chapter who are also
signed up as Democrats Abroad France. Should you not yet have signed up on the
web site, you may do this at any time – there is no fee, no obligation, there
are no dues.
Your name will then appear on the official list of
electors. When voting : you must bring your US Passport with you. If you
vote by mail, please enclose a photocopy of the passport. DNC rules insist that
every ballot must be signed with the name of the voter.
WHO CAN RUN
Any member of the Bordeaux
chapter who is also signed up with Democrats Abroad France may run for any
position. The current Bordeaux Executive Committee is as follows

Every current Ex Com member
is eligible to run for a second two year term since the Bordeaux Chapter was
founded two years ago on October 20th..
HOW TO RUN
If you want to run for
office, please let Trudy (trudygertrude@orange.fr)know by September 25th and
enclose in your e-mail a recent photo and a hundred to a hundred and fifty word
presentation of yourself and your candidacy – basically stating who you are and
why you are running. This will be posted on the Bordeaux Chapter website and
Facebook fan page.

regular mail, at 5, rue Fondaudège, 33000 Bordeaux.
WHERE TO VOTE
By Mail or in person. Elections will be held at the party location, in the
hour before the Triple Birthday Celebration on October 25th., to be hosted in a
private house in Bordeaux. (Address TBA). Write-in ballots should be sent to
Linda Martin who is in charge of the elections , at the following address :
8, rue de l’Ecole normale, 33200 Bordeaux.
Mailed-in ballots WITHOUT
photocopies of the first passport page WILL NOT BE COUNTED.
DEADLINES
Closing date for
candidacy : September 25th.
Individual candidate
presentations will go on the web that day.
A write-in ballot form to
print out and send in will also be posted
on September 26
Write-in ballots by e-mail : include a pdf of a scanned signed
ballot, and one of the first page of your passport : by snail mail, a
signed ballot and a photocopy of the first page of your passport they must
arrive before October 25th.
Voting in person : Bring your passport to the elections in the hour
before the party. Candidates will speak for 5 minutes to introduce themselves
and make a statement about why they are running, what they hope to accomplish
as members of the DAF Bordeaux Ex Com
