More powerful than the stare of our Senate leader, it's Democrats Abroad Scotland!
We're back with a series of events to keep you involved in the health care debate back home while toasting your health here.
1) Election time: We will be holding our monthly membership meeting in Edinburgh at 11am this Saturday at the Forest Café. The meeting will also double as a Pint and a Pen event (see below). A chair, vice chair, treasurer and secretary will be elected at the meeting, and we will also vote on the proposed bylaws. All members of Democrats Abroad who live in Scotland are eligible to vote. The responsibilities of the four positions are detailed in the draft bylaws: www.democratsabroad.org/node/9198#comment-2091 (you must log on or register with the site to view this page)
2) Pint and a Pen: In the next seven days, in four cities in Scotland , we will be holding Pint and a Pen events. They are an opportunity for Democrats living in and around Aberdeen , Glasgow , Edinburgh and Stirling to socialise over a pint or coffee while at the same time influencing the health care debate by writing letters to politicians and newspapers back home.
Pens, paper, envelopes and sample letters will be provided. You'll have to buy your own drinks, though! Look for a table in the bar area with a sign that says Democrats Abroad.
