To the Amigos of Democrats Abroad Seville:
Below is an invitation to a party celebrating the one-year anniversary of Obama’s victory. We hope you will join us!
Please note that you must be an American voter to cast a ballot for the Democrats Abroad Seville candidates. But the rest of the evening is open to anyone who wants to talk about the future of American politics. If that’s you, don’t miss this event!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PARTY NOV. 4
9 pm at Merchant’s Malt House
Remember where you were on November 4, 2008? A lot of us were up all night watching Obama make history. It was night to remember, and this November 4 we hope you’ll celebrate the victory with Democrats Abroad Seville and with the Drinking Liberally crowd.
With voting the theme of the night, we are going to take care of a little business at the start of the evening. In order to have official status, Democrats Abroad Seville has to elect officers in a public meeting, with a slate of candidates announced a month in advance. So this is your official notice that the following candidates are proposed.
President: Enrique Parrilla
Vice President: Karen McCann
Secretary: Judy Kincheloe
Treasurer: Rich McCann
A lot of you know us already, but for more info you will soon be able to check us out on the Democrats Abroad website (www.democratsabroad.org). You can go to that address to cast your ballot on line starting October 20, or vote during the party, around 9:30. That’s it for official business. Then we turn the night over to Drinking Liberally.
Enrique will be on hand to tell you about his town hall meeting experience this summer, and Rich (a former health care executive) can answer questions on health insurance reform. And we can all be thinking about the possibility of a Cheney-Palin ticket in 2012 (which should be creepy enough to get you in the mood for Halloween!).
Cheers!
Enrique, Karen Judy & Rich
