Join us for dinner to honor Peter Alegi, a lifelong advocate for Americans living overseas. 

For 35 years, Peter has stood up for fairness in taxation and advocated for full U.S. citizenship rights for overseas Americans.  He has advocated parity, not penalty -- and makes legislators listen!-- which is especially important in today's HealthCare debate.

Peter has been a leader in establishing our right to vote in U.S. Federal and State elections.   Many progressive national leaders in 2006 and 2008 were elected specifically because of the overseas vote, and we are as large a number as there has ever been, thanks in no small part to Peter.  He has generously supported Democrats Abroad and voter registration efforts for decades. 

Especially those of us in Rome, residents and visitors alike, have benefitted from Peter's community activism and volunteerism.
