Important! Phone-banking Follow-up

Phone-Banking follow-up

Dear Member,

We recently held a phone-banking event in Stockholm, and other cities, such as Gothenburg. In order to reach as many of our members as possible, we are sending this follow-up email.

This Phone-banking was done in conjunction with our celebration of Democrats Abroad's 45th Anniversary and in order to make certain that we deliver the necessary votes to keep the Democratic Majority in Congress next year. In order to do that we want to know where to reach you and that your contact information is up to date: e-mail address, phone numbers, street address, and voting state. If we did not reach you during the phone-banking, please send your updated contact information to secretary@democratsabroad.se

Please do not opt out!

Please do not opt out from our mailings. If you do, you will not receive important information from us, such as voting alerts in your state. If you are not interested in something we send, just delete the e-mail.

Voter Registration

As you know, Democrats Abroad is recognized as a state party by the Democratic National Committee, and as such we play a pivotal role in delivering overseas votes for Democrats.

Starting in January, we are going to be holding voter registration drives across the country. Check with your local chapter for information.

In Stockholm, we will be holding Voter Registration Assistance every last holiday-free Saturday of the month at Tully's Coffee, Götgatan 42, T-Medborgarplatsen, 11 am to 1 pm, starting on January 30, 2010. From September 2010 up until the Election, the Voter Registration Committee will be at Tully's every Saturday to help you.

We will also host an evening Voter Registration Kickoff and Mingle on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, as well as an Emergency Write-in Absentee Ballot Evening in mid-October, 2010.

Early Primaries

Those of you registered in Illinois and Texas have early primaries -February 2, 2010, and March 2, 2010- and cannot wait until January to request your ballot. Go to http://www.democratsabroad.org/ to request your ballot, and to http://www.fvap.gov/ for state-specific information.

If you have any questions about voting, please contact me at secretary@democratsabroad.se .

Contributions and volunteering

Can we count on you for an online contribution of 35 SEK today? That is the price of a hotdog and a soft drink and will help defray our expenses in conjunction with the 2010 campaign. Of course, you may donate more. You can do so by going to http://www.democratsabroad.se/, clicking on Donate" on the left hand side of the screen, and then on "Contribute".

We also need volunteers for Events, Fundraising, Voter Registration, Platform and Resolutions, and Outreach. Please help us to help you.

Thank you so much.

Best wishes,

Sandy Mansson, DASweden Secretary and Voter Registration Chair
