Theatre Night with Democrats Abroad Canada - National Capital Region

Do you fancy a Friday evening at the theatre for a “witty, cutting tales of Trump times, portraying Democrats and Republicans in a divided America, Basket of Deplorables is a timely take on the craziness of today”?

There is a performance on Friday, December 8 at the Gladstone Theatre that looks like fun spontaneous night together!

BASKET OF DEPLORABLES is a staged reading of an audiobook that presents fives stories in two parts.

Part One: An “Almost True” Present
Features socialist socialites at a Manhattan party on election night. Liberal media types gather with big grins and high-end canapés to watch the Trump-Clinton results come in, expecting a smooth victory for Hillary.

Part Two: The “Post-Truth” Future (9 pm both nights)

“Leakzilla” predicts a tomorrow where a Wikileaks-style data dump of the whole world’s email has put everyone’s dirty laundry out in the open. A couple’s online date goes bitterly awry in this post-privacy world.

Come for either parts, or both including some food at the intermission.

Apologies for the way this comes up last minute. There's another show coming to The Gladstone in January called Grounded, which was an off-Broadway hit for Anne Hathaway. Let us know if you are interested and we will see if we can do a group discount.

But meanwhile, we hope to see some of you at The Gladstone tomorrow night for Basket of Deplorables!

Date:  Friday, December 8
Times:  Part 1 at 6:00 PM, Part 2 at 9:00 PM  (you can attend either or both)
