WHO IS PROTECTING YOU FROM THE IRS?

Attorney and member of the FATCA/FBAR Task Force within Democrats Abroad JOE SMALLHOOVER  will analyze the 2010 Foreign Accounts Tax Compliance Act that directly impacts the foreign banking and other financial accounts of Americans living abroad.

Mr. Smallhoover, former DNC Member and Chair of Democrats Abroad France, and the current International Legal Counsel of Democrats Abroad, will update us on the steps taken by Democrats Abroad and other overseas American interest groups to confront our tax and reporting problems and to seek changes to US tax law, notably to work a switch to Residency Based Taxation and reverse the effects of the GILTI tax for overseas citizens.

Nb:  CPA tax expert Steve Horton will be an attendee at this meeting, and is willing to participate in a Q&A session on FBAR and FATCA and coping with the IRS requirement.
