UK Political Book Club - Rebellion by Robert Kagan

Robert Kagan's essays in the Washington Post that dictatorship was a real threat went viral.  In his new book Rebellion: How Anti-Liberalism is Tearing America Apart – Again, Kagan shows that the America was founded on a uniquely radical democracy – universal rights.  From the beginning there's been a strong anti-liberal reaction to this. This rebellion is at the core of Trumpism.

'The transformation of the US into an autocracy has advanced... It might be irreversible [and] will change almost everything in the world. Nobody has outlined this danger more compellingly than Robert Kagan'

- Martin Wolf, Financial Times

A powerful, much-needed political and social analysis that all lovers of democracy should read

- Kirkus Reviews

Kagan is a neoconservative scholar who has served as foreign policy advisor to Republican candidates and presidents and written several New York Times bestselling books.  A fellow at the Brookings Institution, Kagan left the Republican party when Trump became its nominee in 2016.  He was an editor-at-large columnist for The Washington Post until last October, resigning when the newspaper’s owner Bezos decided not to endorse a candidate in the presidential election.

Rebellion is available in hardback for £14.75 / $17 and as an e-book for £9.99 / $14.99.
