“The US system of Checks and Balances”

Democrats Abroad Lyon is pleased to announce that US consul to Lyon, Rebecca Kimbrell will speaking to our group on November 21st at 18:00.

Ms. Kimbrell commenced her duties as U.S. Consul to Lyon in August 2016; her overseas assignments include tours as a political officer in Kyiv, Ukraine, and as an economic officer in Ankara, Turkey. She began her Foreign Service career in Kingston, Jamaica.

Giving us a refresher course on the “The US system of checks and balances”, Ms Kimbrell will review how the U.S. constitution defines the three branches of government and creates a separation of powers to ensure that no one branch can gain a preponderance of power. Ms Kimbrell will be happy to answer questions after the presentation.

The audience for this event is limited to US citizens and their family members; no journalists are permitted. There is no fee for this event but reservations must be made by November 15th. The location will be sent upon receipt of your reservation. The talk will be followed by a pot luck Apéro with drinks provided by DALyon so please bring a snack to share.
