*Upon contacting the prospective winner of the National Secretary election they have elected to not fill the position. In accordance with the DAJ and DA bylaws, as well as discussing with International Counsel Anne Brady and Asia Pacific Regional Vice Chair Suma Shamanna since the nominee accepted the nomination during the nomination period there is a presumption of acceptance if they were to be elected. Therefore, the act of the individual declining to fill the position must be treated as a resignation. Accordingly, the the NEC has decided that a new election must be held to fill newly vacant seat. Please keep an eye out on the announcement of the second special election.
We greatly appreciate your attention and participation.
Sincerely yours,
