Voting is also currently under-way for DAJ’s Special Election for electing the positions of National Secretary and all Members-at-Large. Check below for more information. 2024 DAJ Special Election
Voting is currently open for the 2024 DAJ Special Election. An email with the subject “[BALLOT ENCLOSED] DAJ Special Election]” went out on June 14th containing the details for voting. Please be sure to check.
There are two ways to vote:

  1. Fill out a digital ballot
  2. Print and fill out a PDF of the ballot

All ballots must be received by Sunday July 7th at 23:59.

Vote tallying will occur on Monday July 8th at 19:00 online via Webex and is open to observers.

Juneteenth Celebration in Kyoto RECAP
Thank you to all who attended the Juneteenth event in Kyoto on June 16th. Great turnout!
For the next event in Kyoto, an Independence Day picnic is being planned for the weekend of July 6th/7th. Stay tuned for more details.

Kansai Chapter June Speakeasy

Independence Day Potluck in Kanto
Saturday, July 6th 3pm - 6pm
Yoyogi Park
Come celebrate Independence Day with a Fourth of July potluck picnic on Saturday, July 6 from 3pm ~ 6pm at Yoyogi Park!
The event is completely BYOB, but someone from the DAJ Kanto team will arrive early to claim the area. Bringing any blankets/tarps if you have any would be highly appreciated!
This event is open to all so feel free to bring your friends (DAJ members or not)!

Do you like to write? We can help you share your voice! We are looking for members who may be interested in writing articles regarding staying politically involved while abroad, voting from abroad, etc that can be submitted to online publications which accept guest written articles. REQUEST YOUR 2024 ABSENTEE BALLOT TODAY
Remember! As an overseas voter, your voter registration and ballot requests must be filed each calendar year so that you can vote in every election in 2024. Visit VoteFromAbroad.org to request your ballot. Ask for your ballot to be sent by email. Plan to vote in your state’s Democratic primary for Senate, State Representative or other non-presidential offices? It may be coming up fast! Global Phonebanking Campaigns
Starting August 14th
The start date for the first phonebanking campaign to DA members has been moved up to August 14th. This campaign will reach out to members who vote in battleground states/Congressional districts who must return their ballot by mail and who live in areas with unreliable mail service.
If you're interested in helping to mobilize these voters and are new to phonebanking or need a refresher, get trained here.
