2024 DAJ Special Election
The Nominations and Election Committee (NEC) for the 2024 DAJ Special Election have opened nominations for the following positions:
- National Secretary
- Member-at-Large, Eastern/Northern Honshu
- Member-at-Large, Western/Southern Honshu
- Member-at-Large, Hokkaido
- Member-at-Large, Shikoku, Kyushu, Okinawa
Members may nominate themselves or another member by sending an e-mail to [email protected] no later than 11:59pm Japan time on June 12, 2024. All nomination emails should include the following:
- Complete name of the person nominated.
- Contact information including phone number and email address.
- Name of the nominated position.

2024 Asia-Pacific Regional Convention Recap
The 2024 Asia-Pacific Regional Convention was held online this past Saturday May 25th. Electors from the region came together to vote on 1 DNC member, 1 Asia-Pacific DA Delegate, and 2 members of the Platform Committee. The results were as follows:
- DNC Member: Cory Lemke (Republic of Korea)
- Asia-Pacific DA Delegate: Terry Lee Watkins Jr. (China)
- Platform Committee members: Gail Mcandrew (Australia) and Malcolm W. Adams (Japan)

AP Region DA New York State Team Action Meeting

The DA New York State Team is currently laying out plans for legislative work and to win back House seats to ensure blue victories. The next action meeting has been specifically planned at a time suitable for Asia-Pacific members. All interested in helping out with the NY State Team are welcomed to attend.

Come celebrate Independence Day with a Fourth of July potluck picnic on Saturday, July 6 from 3pm ~ 6pm at Yoyogi Park! More details on the location to be provided closer to the event.
The event is completely BYOB, but someone from the DAJ Kanto team will arrive early to claim the area. Bringing any blankets/tarps if you have any would be highly appreciated!
This event is open to all so feel free to bring your friends (DAJ members or not)! In the event it rains the event will not go on.

2024 Democrats Abroad Global Convention and Annual General Meeting
Friday May 31st - Sunday June 2nd, Costa Rica Time
This year’s global convention and annual general meeting will take place in Costa Rica, also celebrating 60 years for Democrats Abroad. During the convention, electors will vote on delegates, global DA DNC members, and discuss and adopt the DA Platform. Online participation is also possible.
