Basel's Independence Day Picnic

Come one and all to join DACH Basel in celebrating Independence Day! We're looking forward to seeing our fellow US citizens and their friends and family at our (it was just the) 4th of July picnic on Sunday, July 6th from 11am to 2pm. We have changed the venue; please RSVP to receive the new location.

This will be a potluck BBQ; bring a side dish to share and something to throw on the grill! We'll provide the grills and some beverages.

This year, we will be taking our inspiration from The New Colossus, the poem by Emma Lazarus that is on the Statue of Liberty's pedestal:

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
