Reporting on National Politics in the Time of Coronavirus

DAUK Oxford will be hosting a discussion with Jake Lahut, Politics Reporter at Business Insider, about how reporting national politics has changed due to COVID-19. There will be a moderated discussion followed by a Q/A. Join us on May 13th at 7pm BST. Please register here by May 12 and Democrats Abroad UK members will be sent the Zoom link via email the morning of the event.
Jake Lahut is a politics reporter for Business Insider and Insider.

He previously worked for The Keene Sentinel in New Hampshire, where he covered local politics, the statehouse and the first-in-the-nation primary. At The Sentinel, he launched the first politics podcast at a New Hampshire newspaper, Pod Free or Die, landing one-on-one interviews with candidates such as Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, Andrew Yang, and Cory Booker.

Before arriving in New Hampshire ahead of the 2018 midterms, he was a breaking news reporter at The Daily Gazette of Schenectady in upstate New York, covered the early stages of the Trump Administration as a breaking news and White House intern at Politico, and worked as Mark Singer's research assistant at The New Yorker in between a stint as the metro intern at The Albany Times Union.

He also freelanced in France while on a fellowship as an English teacher at Lycée International de l'Est Parisien.
