In just a few months, we will have the opportunity to turn the page on this complicit and reckless Congress. With Democratic control, we can stop most of Donald Trump’s legislative agenda. We can issue subpoenas and investigate corruption and grift. We have spent months preparing for this moment and we are ready! In the coming months, we plan to:
We can’t do this without you! Here’s what you can do to help:
We hope to see you at Zürich Pride and our other upcoming events! Thank you for your support. We are so glad to be in this fight with you. Wishing you all a wonderful summer season as we count down to change. In solidarity, Katie Wright In this newsletter: Report back from DA Annual General MeetingDA Switzerland's 6 Democratic Party Committee Abroad (DPCA) voting representatives, elected at our AGM in 2025, recently represented us at the Global AGM of Democrats Abroad, which was held in Nairobi, Kenya and online. This year, voting representatives from around the world heard from Jane Kleeb, President of the Association of State Democratic Committees and Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, and debated a number of resolutions, unanimously voicing support for increased taxation of billionaires and passing several resolutions intended to make Democrats Abroad more open and participatory. You can see the full list of resolutions here. If you're interested in working on resolutions for next year's AGM, feel free to get in touch with any of our DPCA representatives; they are all listed on our DA Switzerland leaders page. Following the Supreme Court's decision in Louisiana v. Callais, state legislatures have become even more important battlegrounds for voting rights, election administration, and congressional redistricting. Forward Majority predicts that eight races in five states — Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — could help determine control of legislative chambers representing roughly 42 million Americans. Read more here. Across the country, Democrats continue to outperform recent presidential voting margins in state legislative special elections. Analysts tracking 2026 special elections report a significant Democratic overperformance compared with 2024 results, with multiple Republican-held seats already flipping to Democratic control this year. VFA ReminderIf you are a U.S. citizen living abroad, using the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) is the absolute best way to request your ballot. While you can technically use your specific state’s standard absentee ballot form, the FPCA grants you specific, powerful legal protections under federal law that state forms do not. In the last few newsletters, we have been highlighting the benefits of using the FPCA. Here is the fourth benefit: Two-in-One Functionality. The FPCA serves a dual purpose: it acts as both a voter registration form and an absentee ballot request simultaneously. Even if you are already registered to vote in your state, the FPCA updates your status to an "overseas voter" and triggers your ballot request for the year.
The absolute best way to complete and submit an FPCA is via VoteFromAbroad.org. If you haven't requested your ballot yet this year, please do so now! And check with your U.S. citizen friends and family to make sure they have as well.
Events may be added throughout the month, so check our Events Page or Google Calendar for additions! We encourage you to participate in any DA events across Switzerland.
