We have a very special guest for our "back-to-school" La Lucha event: Senator Doug Jones. The first Democrat to win election to statewide office in Alabama since 2008, Doug defeated Roy Jones in 2018 to take Jeff Sessions’s senate seat, which he held until 2021. As United States Attorney for Alabama’s Northern District, he successfully prosecuted two KKK members in 2001-2002 for their roles in Birmingham’s 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in 1963.
