I am politically a centrist, though many of my right-wing friends and family consider me to be a 'communist' because of some of my views and, conversely, the more left-wingers among them see me as a hopeless fascist. I am what I call a 'reluctant Democrat.' In my view, both of the major parties have grown distant from the needs of the working and middle classes, but I believe the Democrats are capable of reform. In contrast, the Republicans of today are clearly the party of the oligarchs and would-be autocrats and would appear to be irredeemable.

I became active in Democrats Abroad ahead of the 2020 election for one simple reason — to do everything I possibly could to stop Donald Trump from being reelected. And we succeeded! I continue my involvement to help ensure that he never returns to the White House and that his army of supporters is kept well away from the levers of power at any level of government. We Democrats would do well to clean up our act a bit, but I believe we can, and will contribute what I can to accomplishing that.
