We will also have a short presentation where we'll go beyond the headlines to get insights on what the latest voting and voting preference data tell us about the upcoming election, followed by Q&A and informal discussion.  

Our guest speaker is Liam Speden.

Liam is an experienced business leader and technologist with over 30 years’ experience in using data to analyze, model, and predict how people and populations behave. He has worked across multiple industries including defense, public safety, energy, media, finance and retail.

From 2015 to 2017 he was CEO of Organizer, a political technology start-up focused on using mobile technology to improve public engagement and community building both in the USA and internationally. Throughout the 2016 election cycle he worked closely with Democratic political campaigns, political consulting firms, and other activist groups.

While he no longer works in the political space, he retains close ties with the political campaign, analytics and media industry. He joins us to provide his opinions and insights on why “data” on the current political situation and upcoming election often seems confusing, contradictory, and challenging.
