Kanto 2024 Global Presidential Primary

Live in or near the Kanto area? Cast your vote in person for the Democratic nominee for president who will appear on the General Election ballot in November! Polling place is at Tokyo (see below for the address) and voting hours are from 12-8pm. We'll have food, entertainment, and more.

Enjoy a quick peek of a Japanese Rakugo theater in English!
2pm, 3pm, 4pm
Rakugo is a Japanese traditional storytelling performance. You will see some English Rakugo Association performers tell short rakugo stories as well as traditional Japanese dance and a bamboo mat show.

Plus: free snacks; short discussions on key issues such as the Equal Rights Amendment, climate policy, immigration, and reproductive rights; and an update on the efforts of the DA Taxation Task Force.

Based on your votes and those in DA countries around the world, Democrats Abroad will send 21 delegates to the Democratic National Convention in August this year. The following candidates have successfully filed to appear on the Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary (GPP) ballot:

  • Joseph R. Biden
  • Marianne Williamson

To vote in DAJ’s Global Presidential Primary, you must:

  • Reside in Japan and be a U.S. Citizen
  • Be a member of Democrats Abroad
  • Be 18 as of November 5, 2024

All DA members can participate, regardless of your registered state. Same-day registration is available (or register online here).

Important
You can vote for President in just one primary election – either in the DAJ primary or your U.S. state’s primary. If you participate in the DA presidential primary, you can still vote in your state’s primary elections for downballot races.

First: register and request your primary ballot
Before you do anything, please request your absentee ballot now from VotefromAbroad.org. This also registers you to vote in your state for any election in 2024.

Can’t make it to the Voting Center?
You can vote remotely! If you have already registered with Vote From Abroad his year, please use this form to request your ballot be sent by email or by postal mail, and return it by email or postal mail. Remote voting takes place from February 13-March 12th.

Already registered to vote in 2024 through VoteFromAbroad.org? Check your inbox for an email from Democrats Abroad on January 20th with an individualized form, pre-populated with your DAJ member information, to request your ballot.
