Pride Parade

Democrats Abroad – BC Mainland chapter will proudly be marching in the 2025 Vancouver Pride Parade!  Our delegation will include board members, volunteers, and supporters from across the Greater Vancouver area and beyond, representing a diverse and vibrant segment of American citizens living abroad.  This is a wonderful occasion to stand with the LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm our commitment to equality, inclusion and human rights.

Participating in the parade gives us an opportunity to show our connection to the British Columbia community and underscores the importance of Americans maintaining and using their right to vote in US elections.

If you would like to march in the parade, please send an email to our Volunteer Manager at [email protected] and confirm the following:

☐ I am available on Sunday, August 3rd from 11 AM – 5 PM

☐ I am able to meet the physical requirements of walking and standing for the duration of the parade

☐ I can attend the mandatory volunteer training on Wednesday, July 30th at 6 PM

☐ I understand that priority will be given to LGBTQ+ members

Marching spots are limited, so please express your interest as soon as possible.  Please note that we will be wearing Democrats Abroad t-shirts and other celebratory items in the parade.  Once we have finalized the list of people marching in the parade, we will be requesting a donation to cover the costs of the t-shirts.

As we get closer to the parade date, we will share with our confirmed volunteer marchers. 

If you cannot march in the Pride Parade, we would love to have your support on the day.  Please come out and cheer us on!

After the parade finishes, we encourage everyone to enjoy the festivities in the Davie Village and at Nelson Park.  You can find details of those festivals and other celebrations at the Vancouver Pride Society website (https://www.vancouverpride.ca/2025).  

 

WHEN

For those volunteers marching in the parade:

• Sunday, August 03, 2025 at 11:00 AM Pacific Time (US & Canada) Time

Note: The parade should finish at approximately 4pm PDT.

 

WHERE

The parade route is a bit different this year.  It will begin at Pacific Blvd., just past Griffiths Way – you’ll see that BC Place will be adorned with Pride colours.  The parade will end around the intersection of Burrard St. and Pacific St.
