📚 DA Qatar Labor Day Celebration: Private Tour & Meet-Up at Qatar National Library ☕

Join Democrats Abroad Qatar as the summer comes to an end and we celebrate Labor Day with a special private tour of the stunning Qatar National Library, led by librarian and DA Qatar member Mira Greene!

Opened in 2017, this architectural masterpiece was ranked #4 among the world’s 17 most beautiful libraries by Architectural Digest Middle East. It houses over one million books, along with 500,000+ ebooks, periodicals, newspapers, and special collections, making it a true hub of knowledge and culture.

This is a family-friendly event—all ages are welcome to explore and enjoy this incredible space! As a special feature of our visit, the library will have a curated selection of books pulled exclusively for DA Qatar members from a list created by Democrats Abroad’s Resistance Advocacy Team.

These titles explore themes of modern authoritarianism, grassroots activism and mass mobilization, and civil disobedience and protest. Some featured books include:

📖 How Democracies Die – Levitsky & Ziblatt (book & Overdrive)

📖 Rules for Radicals – Saul Alinsky

📖 Hope in the Dark – Rebecca Solnit

After the tour, we’ll gather for a coffee/snack and chat in the library’s restaurant, where we’ll have a brief meeting and catch up on key updates. Members are welcome to stay afterward to roam, read, and explore the library at their leisure.
