Tribute to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr and Congressman John Lewis

We hope that you can join Democrats Abroad Strasbourg, in conjunction with the planned gathering in Washington, D.C. and other DA chapters throughout France and the world, as we gather to pay tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the late Congressman John Lewis, on the anniversary of the March on Washington in 1963, when both men spoke, and Dr. King delivered his "I Have a Dream" oration.

Friday, 28 August 6:30
Across the street from the US Consulate
15 Avenue d'Alsace, 67000 Strasbourg

On this 57th anniversary, we will stand in a socially-distanced circle and read aloud that speech, just as we did three years ago after the neo-Nazi event in Charlottesville.

Bring a bell, so at the refrain, "Let FREEDOM ring...." you can join in!

We will also honor and read the final words of the late civil rights giant Congressman John Lewis.  There will be a minute of silence for him, Dr. King, and George Floyd--and all the heroes of the struggle for human rights and democracy for all.

Please join us as we show our support for "the Dream" and promise of American democracy!
