Stockholm-Uppsala: Film screening and discussion: Bidder 70

Democrats Abroad Sweden, Stockholm-Uppsala, is proud to announce the first-ever screening of the documentary film Bidder 70 in Sweden.

Bidder 70 centers on an extraordinary, ingenious and effective act of civil disobedience demanding government and industry accountability. In 2008, University of Utah economics student Tim DeChristopher committed an act which would redefine patriotism in our time, igniting a spirit of civil disobedience in the name of climate justice.

UPDATE! Joining us by skype after the film is Deb Henry. Deb is currently an engineer in renewable energy and the Chair of the State of Utah's Progressive Caucus in the United States. Deb has led conversations following screenings of Bidder 70 and helped shaped the public image around DeChristopher by facilitating the publishing of over 1000 articles penned in the days after Tim's convictions. She will share her own perspective on the need for direct action and the most effective steps forward in the fight for democracy in the United States.
