ELECTION NOTICE / CALL FOR CANDIDACIES 

The Veterans and Military Families Caucus of Democrats Abroad France will hold its first bi-annual election to elect its Co-Chairs for 2021-2023 on March 15th, 2021 at 7PM. (RSVP here.) This year’s election and meeting will be conducted virtually — early voting and voting on the day of will be available via electronic ballot. All members of the VMF Caucus in France are eligible to run and to vote in this election, or to volunteer for the steering committee. 

RUN FOR VMF CAUCUS CO CHAIR

The DA France Caucus Co-Chairs will work together to lead the DA Veterans and Military Families Caucus in France, direct and oversee its activities on behalf of DA France and the Caucus members, and coordinate/liaise with the Global Veterans and Military Families of Democrats Abroad. 

The Election Board Chair is Bryan Schell; the other Election Board members are Ada Shen and Tilly Gaillard. If you are interested in running for the position of Co Chair of the DA France Veterans and Military Families Caucus, please describe your leadership qualifications and interest in veterans and military issues in a candidacy statement not to exceed 200 words and send it by February 25th to [email protected]

VOLUNTEER FOR THE STEERING COMMITTEE

The DA France Veterans and Military Families Caucus will appoint a Steering Committee after the Co Chairs have been elected. If you would like to be on the Steering Committee you are welcome to volunteer. This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in a leadership capacity. Since 2006, members of DA France have been participating in Memorial Day services at US cemeteries and memorials throughout France, as well as donating and delivering aid, comfort, and appreciation for hospitalized veterans and their families on a non-partisan basis. We work on behalf of veterans and military families around the world, and have advanced the Purple Heart Resolution, which would award the Purple Heart to PTSD and TBI victims; lobbied the VA to make the Toll-Free Suicide Hotline accessible to veterans abroad; and most recently advocated for revoking President Trump’s Transgender Ban Executive Order.
