Democracy & Debate Day

On Sunday, September 15th, Democrats Abroad Japan will be celebrating Democracy! The National ExCom will be hosting an multi-series event in the capital for all to attend, with 3 events all in one day! Come celebrate the democratic process and ideas with us this upcoming holiday weekend!

Official Democratic Debate Watch Party

11:30AM - 3:00PM

Ah yes, what we’re all here for. Raw, hot, and steamy policy discussion. Come support your favorite ideas and policies, and see what arguments each primary presidential candidate will make in favor or against each one another.

Democracy 3 Roleplay

3:00PM - 5:00PM

Have you ever wanted to run the government? Do you think your policies will work well? Let’s test them out in Democracy 3! During this event, we will all be electing a leader and set of supervisors to make policies using real government data from 2012, and simulating the results! If you want to know the difference between “that $120 million dollar program” and “this 4 billion dollar initiative!” see how those actually constrain you and your colleagues when they get into government.

Kansai Election Committee Meeting

11:00AM - 12:00PM
What better way to celebrate democracy than making it happen? The Kansai Election Committee will be wrapping up, counting the ballots, and announcing the provisional winner of the Kansai Chapter Elections! This will be in a separate space (see details below), but all observers are free to attend. (This part of the event will be held at a separate venue - at Sakura Space Kanda, but is open to all observers.)

There is no entry fee required, but donations will be accepted at the door so we can keep running events like these and the presidential primaries in March!
