Enthusiasm picks up in August: Round 2 of Democratic primary debates

Barcelona chapter members and friends gathered at The Lexington Bar on the evenings of July 31st and August 1st to watch  two debates between the very large Democratic field of candidates. Turnout was even better than for debate-watching party for first round of debates in June, with approximately 40 people showing up this time to watch the 20 candidates. The new leadership team (shown below) did a great job of organizing the event and revving up enthusiasm.

The next round of debates will be held in mid-September, and there will be gatherings in Barcelona for those too, typically scheduled a day or two after the actual debates are broadcast in the U.S. Momentum is building as our chapter gears up for what promises to be a tumultuous political year ahead, the global Democratic primary and the vital general election in November 2020.
