Master class with Professor Heidi Li Feldman: RBG and dissenting judicial opinions

Heidi Li Feldman is a Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center. Her scholarly expertise includes torts, constitutional torts, products liability, legal theory, political philosophy, ethics, and epistemology. She has written about objectivity; the relationship between law and science in the context of uncertainty; virtue ethics and legal ethics; the role of the virtues in negligence law; the affirmative obligation elected officials have to listen widely, how lawyers should respond to mendacity in politics, and whether and how U.S. municipalities can strengthen civil society. Her current research projects relate to domestic remedies for wrongs of family separation in the immigration context; preserving civil accountability for gun manufacturers when their firearms are used in crimes; and examining the role of state’s attorney generals in vindicating the public interest in reducing gun violence and ensuring federal compliance with the rule of law in the immigration setting.

This Friday, in honor of our beloved Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Professor Feldman will speak to Democrats Abroad Barcelona members about dissenting opinions in the Supreme Court, with a focus on how RBG used them effectively.

RSVP to this event to receive the Zoom invitation. Note that attendance to this event is limited, and preference will be given to members who have donated to Professor Feldman's Swing Left initiative
