GOTV Training for DA Spain: Introduction to voting from abroad

DA Spain is sponsoring a four-session series to get leaders and GOTV volunteers ready for the 2026 midterm elections. We will meet once a month between late September and early December 2025. All sessions will be recorded, but live attendance is strongly encouraged.
The first session will be held September 30 at 7:30 p.m. CET, and will cover the following:
Introduction to Voting From Abroad:
-
The Uniformed and Overseas Absentee Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) and the Federal Postcard Application (FPCA)
-
VFA, VFA sandbox and VFA for students
-
Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) and other voter registration websites
Expected outcome: At the conclusion of this training participants will have a solid grasp of the legal requirements for voting abroad, the role of the FPCA, why use the FPCA instead of state’s other “absentee ballot” programs, why each state is different despite UOCAVA, why we almost always use VFA in DA, but when you might need to use FVAP, and the utility of VFA’s sandbox.
