As many reparationists understand, human rights remain our North Star and that a common respect for civil rights, human rights, and humanity undergirds not only our work, but validates it in the eyes of those closest to pain. To work with Black voters abroad and at home, we must–above all–maintain a consistent commitment to freedom, human rights, and liberation which requires us to continually protect our integrity and align ourselves to our North Star–no matter what comes our way. This year, reparationists around the world will continue following the arc of that shining star, even if we must shift strategies, methods, and vehicles to do so.
