IN WASHINGTON

As of August 11, 2022, President Joe Biden (D) had signed 168 public laws, 95 executive orders, 92 presidential memoranda, 289 proclamations, and 57 notices.

The most diverse White-House Administration in history, the Biden-Harris Administration, is scoring decisively on legislation!

From day one rejoining the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and ending the ban on U.S. entry from majority-Muslim countries to government-wide Covid-19 response and banning discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation, this administration is moving our nation forward.

While the American Rescue Plan Act bolstered U.S. recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act established June 19th as a U.S. Federal Holiday commemorating the end of slavery. President Biden also awarded gold medals to Congressional Police, and signed into law the Methamphetamine Response Act of 2021.

President Biden signed the STANDUP ACT to establish and implement a school-based, student suicide awareness & prevention training policy on March 15, 2022, and the Protecting Moms Who Served Act of 2021, as well as the historic Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act for roads, bridges, public transit, rail, electric vehicles, electric car chargers, grid electrification, and rural broadband internet initiatives and improvements.

Designation of the September 11th National Memorial Trail Route, the Keep Kids Fed Act of 2022, establishment of a Commission to study the Potential Creation of a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History & Culture, and the CHIPS & Science Act to set the USA high and flying in semiconductor innovation and production, President Biden signed them all.

The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act gun legislation which supports crisis intervention, protection for victims of domestic violence, licensing requirements, review processes and violence interruption funding, and the PACT Act, an expansion of benefits and services for toxic-exposed veterans are all Biden-Harris administrative successes.

Scholars of American History & American Presidency are touting President Biden’s successes on the high end of fertile legislation, and perhaps as the most consequential legislatively in American History.  His low-profile demeanor and deep understanding of the Senate is yielding significant wins!

Today, August 16, 2022, the Inflation Reduction Act which is a legacy-shaping bill of drug pricing controls and the largest federal clean energy and climate plan in U.S. history marks the 169thpublic law signed by President Biden!

Here is some of what it delivers.

To prepare for these Voter Cafés we enjoyed a presentation by the Vice-Consul of American Citizens Services of the U.S. Embassy, Mr. Nathan Johnson, who offered an interesting analysis of demographics and voting behaviors of Americans living abroad.

You may address any questions regarding voting and/or mail your ballot to the Voting Assistance Officer, as noted below.
