Douglas Drake
Member-at-Large, Member Outreach and Communications
Doug has been a resident of Kitchener since 2014. He is a native Wisconsinite and lived and worked in Wisconsin most of his adult life.
He worked as a Staff Representative for the United Steelworkers Union (USW) for more than twenty years. Among his duties were organizing campaigns, contract negotiations, grievance resolution and arbitration presentation. In addition, he assisted with political education and mobilization of members, an ongoing program for the USW.
Doug also served as mediator for the US Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), for 7 years. FMCS provides mediation services to resolve conflicts in collective bargaining disputes, along with other dispute resolution services for federal agencies.
He looks forward to working with other KW Chapter officers and members to increase member communication and involvement in activities of Democrats Abroad.
